Short description
Despite begin acquitted after shooting a young thug, Billy Taggart (Mark Wahlberg) is forced to resign as a New York police officer. Seven years later, he works as a private detective for clients who have a hard time paying him. Contacted by the mayor of New York (Russell Crowe), who is in the midst of a campaign for a second term, Taggart is offered $50,000 to find out who is sleeping with the mayor's wife (Catherine Zeta-Jones) and to take photos of the man. But Taggart soon figures out that there is more to the story than just an affair...
