La marche France 2013 – 120min.
Short description
As he hangs with his friends on his building’s doorstep in the heart of the Minguettes suburb in Lyon, Mohamed is shot by a policeman. An instance of police brutality that echoes the many racist crimes raging through France, targeting immigrants and their children, who have a hard time finding their place in the country they were nevertheless born in. Recovered from his wounds, the young man wants to draw attention to his plight. Inspired by peaceful marches organized by Gandhi and Martin Luther King, he decides to hold a march from Marseille to Paris to sensitize the population – through encounters where they can get to know one another better and learn to love. Accompanied by the parish priest, a handful of young people set off on a trek throughout France...
