Short description
A portrait of Anna Halprin, a pioneer of postmodern dance, who was inspired by the sculptures of Auguste Rodin and choreographed pieces for the beaches and forests of California. During a major retrospective of her career performed in Paris, Halprin visited the Rodin Museum and was so deeply moved she decided to mix Rodin sculptures into her choreography as an expression of hope for humanity. With a soundtrack by Fred Frith, this moving film captures the essence of Halprin’s artistic process, her extraordinary sense of movement, her commitment to Rodin and the depth of the link between her company, the Sea Ranch Collective, to nature.
