As more and more youths from the indigenous Cácuas people take their own lives, a saddened Sergio Guataquira Sarmiento, himself of indigenous descent and driven by an emotional connection to the people from the Amazon region, sets off to Colombia to find out what lies behind the shocking facts. There he finds a friend, also torn between two cultures, who introduces him to the traditions and values of the Cácuas. He illustrates his newfound friendship in beautiful black-and-white images.
