Anne Hathaway gets happy

The new singing-dancing Anne Hathaway is slated to play Judy Garland in the stage and screen adaptations of Gerald Clarke's biography, «Get Happy».

After showing her singing and dancing skills on the Oscar stage this year with host Hugh Jackman and getting rave reviews – and an Oscar nomination – for her performance as a recovering addict in «Rachel Getting Married», Anne Hathaway is poised to play one of the biggest legends of all time: Judy Garland.

Garland's life, which contained enough ups, downs, sorrow, joy and drama for several lifetimes, will be adapted for the stage and the movies, the details to be taken from Gerald Clarke's biography, «Get Happy».

It remains to be seen whether Hathaway's own – decent, but not fabulous – voice will be used, or whether she will lip-sync to Garland's inimitable songs.
