Severely disappointed by a number of unrealistic scenes, Warner Brothers chiefs are forcing Guy Ritchie to re-shoot five weeks' worth of footage.

Costly distraction

Distracted by his ongoing divorce from Madonna, Guy Ritchie was not in top shape during the shooting of «Sherlock Holmes». He now has to call back his actors, including Robert Downey Jr. who plays the title-role, and Jude Law, his loyal sidekick Dr. Watson.

Despite the costly mental turmoil of his director, Robert Downey Jr. admits thoroughly enjoying exploring the ambiguous friendship between his character and Dr. Watson. «I think the word bromance is so passé. We are two men who happen to be roommates who wrestle a lot and share a bed.»

As for Jude Law, he claims audiences are in for a shock: «Holmes and Watson are both meaner, harder, more complicated. They both live in a London that is much seedier and much more dangerous» than in Arthur Conan Doyle's novels.
