David Cronenberg will remake his own science-fiction film «The Fly».

In 1986, the Canadian director shot a remake of a 1956 horror classic, transforming Jeff Goldblum into a horrible giant fly for the occasion. The result: as a metaphor on 1980's AIDS, «The Fly» became an instant horror classic.

David Cronenberg has recently announced his plans to make a new version of his film. In July 2008, he directed a lyrical adaptation of «The Fly» at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, with tenor Placido Domingo in the title-role.
