Michael Moore bites the hand that feeds

The press is speculating that Michael Moore has ended his Hollywood career. During a Q&A in Venice to present his new movie «Capitalism: A Love Story», Moore turned to Paramount executives who were on stage with him and used them as examples to explain his movie's central theme.

With the studio representatives behind him, Moore said, «Why would these companies give money to me, a guy who is diametrically opposed to everything they stand for? One of the beautiful flaws of capitalism is they will use the rope you give them to hang themselves if you can make a buck.»

«I think this is the last time they will give me that money. They are not an ideology, they are just about money. I can imagine the conversation 'Look what he's said about us' says one man, and other says 'But look how much money he made'.»

At least Moore has a safety net. 'I have been saving up my money since Sicko to get to this day,« he said. »I will always make my own movies. Now I have my own money to make them.« He'll probably be needing it.

After taking on the Bush administration in »Fahrenheit 9/11«, the gun lobby in »Bowling for Colombine« and the US health care system in »Sicko«, Moore sets his sights on the financial world in »Capitalism: A Love Story«.

The documentary is due out in November. In the meantime, watch the trailer clicking on the link above.
