Pacino = Dr. Death
Al Pacino is in negotiations to play Dr. Jack Kevorkian, a.k.a. Dr. Death, in a movie for HBO.
A great defender of euthanasia, Dr. Kevorkian spent eight years in prison and was released in 2007 at age 79.
At the end of the 1980's, the doctor caused a scandal when he began soliciting his services as a «death counselor», promoting assisted suicide, and eventually helping over 100 people into the sweet hereafter. In 1998, a video of him lethally injecting a man with Lou Gehrig's disease was shown on «60 Minutes», which eventually led to his arrest and imprisonment.
Al Pacino is in negotiations to play the controversial doctor, with Barry Levinson, maker of «Wag the dog» and the recent «What Just Happened?», slated to direct.
