The Big Lebowski documentary

American fans of the Coen Brothers' cult «The Big Lebowski» are honoring their favorite film with a documentary entitled «The Achievers: The Story of the Lebowski Fans».

The topic of the film? Fans themselves, and the craze that followed the release of the irresistible comedy, in which Jeff Bridges, John Turturro, John Goodman and Julianne Moore shone brightly.

The documentary also covers the foundation of the «Lebowski Fest» and its exponential success. For the uninitiated, the «Lebowski Fest» is a festival organized by and for die-hard Coen Brothers fans which gives them an occasion to dress up as their favorite character.

Ironically, they call themselves «achievers», which could be considered the polar opposite of what the Dude exemplifies – a slacker who famously answers a question about his hobbies with: «I bowl. Drive around. The occasional acid flashback.»
