The Dude is Rooster Cogburn

The «Big Lebowski» team rethinks a western classic.

Jeff Bridges, who played the Dude in «The Big Lebowski», will take on John Wayne's part in the remake announced earlier this year of the great «True Grit» by the cult comedy's directors, Joel and Ethan Coen.

The talented duo plan on sticking closer to the original novel by telling the story from the point of view of the revenge-hungry teenage girl who hires an aging marshal. In 1969, John Wayne's performance earned him an Oscar.
