After a long battle against pancreatic cancer, Patrick Swayze has passed away, at the age of 57.

The son of a Texas choreographer, Swayze reached fame with his dance teacher role in cult romantic flick «Dirty Dancing». Awarded a Golden Globe in 1990 for his part in «Ghost», the actor was considered an icon in tender masculinity.

According to his doctor, «Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months.»
