A young woman looks after an old man who refuses to go into a retirement home.

Edmond is a proud old man who makes it clear to everyone around him that he doesn’t need anyone’s help for anything. All he needs are his plants and his music; other people don’t interest him. His young care-giver Rose, who comes to treat his diabetes, is just as quiet and stubborn as he is, but she takes him under her wing to forget her own troubles.

It's enough to see Edmond's (the extraordinary actor Michel Bouquet) face light up when Rose (Florence Loiret Caille) offers him a CD player, and see Rose's do the same in a kind of ricochet of emotions, to understand the intensity of their almost silent exchange. Swiss directors Stéphanie Chuat and Véronique Reymond have created a great piece of film for their first feature!
