Alvin and the Chipmunks: Road Chip
After a series of misunderstandings, Alvin, Simon and Theodore think that Dave is about to ask his girlfriend to marry him in Miami, and that he may abandon them. Now they have three days to find Dave and stop him from proposing. And so they embark on a road trip across America that will be full of adventure, music and major silliness.
Who is the target audience for this horrifically clumsy, overblown, awful movie? The fourth installment in a franchise that has unfortunately had some success, Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip serves up a nightmare for those who can’t stand the chipmunks’ squeaky voices. The movie is stuffed with gags worthy of kindergarten, dumb dialogues and the systematic use of musical sequences to plump up a plot so calculated that it becomes exasperating. Nothing can stop this movie from killing off your neurons – it’s so stupid and shallow that it can’t even be recommended for younger audiences. There is much better animated fare out there, with small, new wonders being released every month.
