Fresh out of the academy, Ben has only one desire: to work the streets with his girlfriend’s brother, the detective James. But after an operation borders on disaster because of him, Ben is sidelined in Atlanta when James takes off on an important mission to Miami. Instead, he is supposed to organize James’ wedding with Angela. When she calls James to beg him to get rid of Ben, James agrees to take him on for a single reason: to prove that Ben doesn’t have the talent to become a good detective. And so starts an explosive investigation in Miami, where the two try to stop a dangerous criminal with the help of a local detective...

In a weird, parallel world (the United States), people like Adam Sandler (in his heyday) and Kevin Hart (pretty much unknown on this side of the Atlantic) can become a benchmark for successful comedy. Popularized by movies like Think Like a Man, The Wedding Ringer and Get Hard, the actor seems to be a natural for the genre. But this movie, also starring Ice Cube, is just another retread of the mismatched police duo already done better elsewhere (Beverly Hills Cop, Lethal Weapon, Bad Boys, Rush Hour, etc.), as always with the usual things that go boom, punch lines, gags – all tied to a thin plot. There is no reason to see this dumb, boring film, which is only for desperate fans of the genre.
