The story is set in a future period in which technology dominates life to an increasing extent. In this world there exists a statute called the law of the sixth day which prohibits all cloning of humans. When pilot Adam Gibson is confronted with his clone, he spares no efforts to expose the fact that the law was violated and that he was the victim of the act.
