The young hobbit Frodo Baggins receives a very special gift from his Uncle Bilbo: a ring. The wizard Gandalf tells Frodo that not only can the ring make him invisible, it is one of the evil Sauron's rings. Frodo and his friends Sam, Pippin and Merry embarks a difficult voyage to the elfin city in Rivendell, planning to leave the ring safely with them.
