20 000 years ago, in the "Ice Age", a morose mammoth meets a sloth who is anything but lazy with his tongue. The goggle-eyed beast attracts bad luck like a dogturd attracts flies, which is why he picks on Manny to be his personal bodyguard, although Manny has no interest in making friends. But when the two discover an abandoned human baby they decide they must return it to its species. Diego, the shady sabre-toothed tiger, offers himself as their guide, but his real motives for accompanying them elude our heroes.
