The world is full of angels, except they call themselves "case officers". As David Norris (*Matt Damon*), a New York politician on the rise from a simple background who is destined to change the world as the future US president, soon finds out. At least that is the plan of God, who prefers to be called the chairman of the board. But when Norris falls in love with the dancer Elise (*Emily Blunt*), this threatens to change his future and the Adjustment Bureau goes into action to keep the two lovers apart and make sure Norris meets his fate.
