Young Sean receives an encrypted voice message from his grandfather (*Michael Caine*), which he decrypts together with his stepfather Hank (*Dwayne Johnson*). The message contains the coordinates of the mysterious island described by Jules Verne in his novel. Together with a helicopter pilot and his daughter, the two travel there, where they experience both tiny and huge animals in a strange land. After a crash landing, they find the grandfather – and themselves in danger, when the island threatens to sink.
