Since the 1950's, actor *Harry Dean Stanton*, born in 1926, has been a fixed quantity in American film - mostly in supporting roles, which he elevates thanks to his flair for the right emotional gesture. He worked with great directors like *Ridley Scott*, *Wim Wenders* and *David Lynch* and shared the screen with *Marlon Brando*, *Jack Nicholson* and *Paul Newman*. Not much is known about Stanton the man, however, because he doesn't like the public limelight.
