#185 - KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES is EPIC.
Ewan and Lachlan share their thoughts on «Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes», talk about reboots, spin-off and sequels to Blade Runner, The Office, Lord of the Rings, Superman and Robin Hood. Ewan binged through all 10 Planet of the Apes films, a range of disappointing 2024 releases like «Arcadian», «Unfrosted», «Humane», «Garfield», «Prom Dates» & «Founders Day». He liked «Turtles All the Way Down» though. Lachlan watched «Late Night With the Devil» and struggles his way through a temporary set up this week.

Ewan and Lachlan catch up with the trailers for Deadpool & Wolverine and Mufasa: The Lion King. Lachlan watched Mulholland Drive, Call Me By Your Name, and the disappointing Boy Kills World. Ewan caught up with Abigail, The Idea of You, Arthur the King, and more, diving deeper into his Cannes preparation with Open Range, and Fish Tank among others. Finally, they review the steaming-hot and much anticipated new film from Luca Guadagnino; Challengers.
#183 - THE FALL GUY is Fun as F**k!
Ewan and Lachlan share their thoughts on David Leitch's «The Fall Guy» starring generational movie star Ryan Gosling and fake Dune director Emily Blunt. They both watched a bunch of Alex Garland films for an upcoming director bracket, and Lachlan even made himself sit through «Rebel Moon Part 2: The Scargiver». It was painful... Ewan watched the original «Mad Max» trilogy, «The Nice Guys», and «The Man from U.N.C.L.E.» Lachlan shows off his pricey 4K steelbook purchases and argues why «28 Years Later» should still be filmed in the bad video quality of the first one.

Ewan and Lachlan review the first season of «Fallout» and Alex Garland's «Civil War» produced by A24. Ewan watched «Ripley», «The Sympathizer» and «Rebel Moon Part 2». Lachlan is back from his holiday in Bali and has thoughts on Tarantino quitting his 10th film «The Movie Critic».

Ewan gives an overview of the 2024 Cannes lineup and tells you why he didn't like the Amy Winehouse biopic «Back to Black». Lachlan watched «Devs», «La Chimera», «The Green Knight», and Ewan caught «Musica», the AppleTV+ show «Sugar» with Colin Farrell, and finished «Seinfeld».
#180 - GODZILLA x MONKEY MAN
Ewan and Lachlan pair up «Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire» & «Monkey Man» as a double feature spoiler review and rank all the American Godzilla and King Kong movies. They also caught «Love Lies Bleeding» and finished «3 Body Problem». Lachlan watched the Planet of the Apes movies and Ewan rewatched «La La Land» and has thoughts on «Girl State» and the «Wages of Fear» remake. Lastly, they share their thoughts on Matrix 5, Julia Garner as the Silver Surfer, and Alex Garland's supposed retirement from directing.

As part of their Oscar Prediction Contest, they watch Johnny To's "Election" 1 & 2 and talk about the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean reboot. Lachlan watched Jim Jarmusch's "Ghost Dog" and Ewan caught "Quiet On Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV" as well as "Hundreds of Beavers" and "Shirley". Ewan caught up with the new releases «Sometimes I Think About Dying» and «Imaginary». Lachlan tried to watch «Devs» and «Drive Away Dolls» but ended up hanging out with his two new puppies instead. Ewan finished «Death and Other Details» and «Invincible Season 2 Part 2». Finally, they discuss the highly anticipated anime movie «The First Slam Dunk».
#176 - MONSTER is Incredibly Underrated
Ewan and Lachlan revisit a film they've already reviewed 9 months at last year's Cannes Film Festival. This time they get to share their in-depth spoiler thoughts on the latest film from Hirokazu Kore-eda «Monster». In preparation for a movie bracket on Denis Villeneuve, they have been (re)watching his filmography in addition to catching the latest (serious) Adam Sandler movie on Netflix called «Spaceman». Ewan went on a binge of new releases with «Damsel», «Ricky Stanicky», «Kung Fu Panda 4», «Shogun», «Megamind and the Doom Syndicate» and he even made time to see «Dune Part 2» again, but in IMAX this time.

Ewan is recovering from sickness and Lachlan has a messy room. Lachlan watched «Mean Girls», «El Conde», and played Palworld and Alan Wake 2. Ewan watched «Aryglle», «Orion and the Dark», «Masters of the Air», and the fifth season of «Fargo».
#170 - Oscar Nominations, Sundance & Fallen Leaves
IT'S LACHLAN'S BIRTHDAY! This week we discuss the Nominations for the 96th Academy Awards. What were the Snubs and Surprises? One of the films that unfortunately did not make the Final 5 for the Internation Feature Category is Aki Kaurismäki's «Fallen Leaves», which is the film we are going to review in detail. The Sundance Film Festival has wrapped and Ewan caught some films virtually that he'll tell you about and Lachlan started «True Detective: Night Country».
#169 - How PRISCILLA solves the Biopic Problem.
Ewan and Lachlan go over a variety of news about productions starting up again, remakes and castings being announced, and the exciting new trailer for «Spaceman». Ewan has been very busy with watching some of the first releases of 2023 and Lachlan is catching up on the seconds seasons of «The Bear» and «Reacher». Finally, they discuss the A24 x Sofia Coppola coproduction «Priscilla», a portrait of a woman drawn into a relationship with Elvis Presley.

Ewan and Lachlan host the first official certified semi-bi-annual Quiet On Set Podcast Movie and Films Awards show with categories and winners and stuff. A feast for any awards aficionado - as we take this matter deadly seriously - crowning the best Debuts and biggest Surprises, and handing out Tech and Acting Awards to our favorite movies of 2023.
Special - 2024s Most Anticipated Movies
Ewan, Lachlan, and Kevin go over the release date calendar for 2024 and tell you what they are looking forward to the most. From «Dune Part II», «Mickey 17», and «Nosferatu» to a fourth «Despicable Me» movie I guess... there are a ton of sequels, prequels, and spin-offs as expected but also a bunch of exciting filmmakers premiering their work this year.

Ewan and Lachlan watched Bradley Cooper's sophomore feature «Maestro» as well as «Rebel Moon: Part One - A Child of Fire», «Saltburn» & «Dream Scenario». Ewan rewatched «Perfect Days» with his family and caught the two seasons of «Reacher», the second season of «What If...?» and underrated gem «Small, Slow But Steady». They also share their favorite soundtracks, scores and albums of the year.

Ewan and Lachlan talk about the Oscar Shortlists, their end-of-the-year watchlists, and the worst films of the year. Ewan and Lachlan discuss Hayao Miyazaki's potentially final movie «The Boy and the Heron» and discuss Studio Ghibli's future without their iconic filmmakers. They watched the trailer for «Godzilla x Kong: A New Empire» and Lachlan caught «Godzilla Minus One» in theaters. He also got to see «Poor Things» at a preview screening and watched three of Ridley Scott's best movies. Ewan watched «Leave the World Behind», «Silent Night», and «Manodrome».
#163 - MAY DECEMBER is Deliciously Awkward
It's that time of the year when the films that premiered in Cannes finally release for all audiences world wide and among them is this week's movie «May December». Ewan shares his love for Todd Haynes filmmaking while Lachlan loved the movie more for its technical achievements rather than narrative ones. Ewan also caught some Christmas themed movies like «The Holdovers» and «It's a Wonderful Knife» and they both sat through the horrible «Family Switch», why? - they still don't know. Lachlan (re)watched a couple more Ridley Scott movies including «Thelma & Louise» and «Gladiator» and is very excited for the live action «Fallout» series that just premiered its first trailer. Finally, «Furiosa», «The Boys» Season 4 and «House of the Dragon» Season 2 all premiered their first trailers this week.
#162 - Why You Should Watch NAPOLEON Twice
Ewan and Lachlan talk about period pieces and epics as they share their spoiler thoughts on Ridley Scott's «Napoleon» and reveal why the 4hr+ director's cut will make or break the film. Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega are both out from «Scream 7» and Nicholas Hoult is Lex Luthor in «Superman Legacy». Ewan watched Disney's «Wish», and three reptile-themed movies/series with «Leo», «Godzilla: Minus One» and «Monarch: Legacy of Monsters» as well as the bloody slasher «Thanksgiving» and Lachlan finished Alan Wake 2.
