Morning Glory
An ambitious TV producer is hired to improve the abysmal ratings of a morning show.
Recently fired from her job at a local Jersey TV station, Becky Fuller gets hired to save a national morning show from its abysmal ratings. Ambitious and hyper-motivated, Betty has no idea that the production is a mess, its long-standing host gets her co-anchors fired in succession, and that her job is going to be much more difficult than she thought. Even more so when Becky decides to hire a respected journalist, the current host's ex who feels the gig is far beneath him...
The media is often a target for Hollywood, which either takes on the industry's cynicism or attempts to make ambitious epics about crucial chapters in modern history – often with the aim of collecting as many Oscars as possible. Luckily, this is not the case here. Playfully poking fun at TV and its D-list stars, Morning Glory is a funny, well-crafted and emotional jewel, with the extra-added pleasure of Harrison Ford and Diane Keaton sniping at each other on the air.
