The Woman with a Broken Nose
A young woman throws herself off after abandoning her baby in the back seat of a taxi.
During a traffic jam on a bridge in Belgrade, a young woman with a broken nose gets out of a taxi, swings her legs over the railing and jumps. Gavrilo, a Bosnian taxi driver, Anica, a teacher, and Biljana, a pharmacist, all race out their cars and try to help. Each of them is completely shocked, and Gavrilo finds himself with a baby on his hands that he can't bear to abandon. Who was the woman? Why did she jump? Did she survive and if so, will he ever find her? This film, like life itself, holds many surprises in store...
"If you don't have any scars, you haven't lived," says Gavrilo. Everyone has their fate, which is perhaps why he is more touched than others by the unknown woman's desperate act. Despite the poor state of the Serbian capital, the choking traffic, the awful weather and the uncertain future ("You'd have to be a sadist to bring a child into this world," thinks Gavrilo who always carries a gun, even 12 years after the end of the Bosnian War), it is hope that awaits him at the other end of the bridge.

A nice wee movie. Liked the taxi driver's sardonic comments in particular. Also really liked the soundtrack.
