Based in South Africa managing a safe house as he waits for a promotion, Matt Weston is an ambitious CIA agent. When a super-spy is brought to the safe house in custody for trying to sell secret information to enemies of the West, the safe house is attacked by a mysterious group of mercenaries and the agent escapes. Matt goes in pursuit in an attempt to show his superiors he's ready for the big time...

This conventional action movie is full of manipulation, counter-espionage, car chases, gunfights, hand-to-hand combat and plot twists – and a great cast, including Ryan Reynolds, Vera Farmiga, Brendan Gleeson, Sam Shepard and Denzel Washington. The latter gets called "the black Dorian Gray" during the film, which is no surprise, since the seemingly ageless 58-year-old really must have a magic portrait in his attic!
