Seven months after the accidental death of her son Luke, who was killed by a hit-and-run driver, Diane is a prisoner of her own anger. Because the police investigation is stalled, she goes in search of the culprit by herself. With only information on the car, a mocha-colored Mercedes driven by a blonde woman, she tracks down Marlene, the manager of a beauty salon. Diane gradually gets closer to her and her family under a false identity.

Last year, Nathalie Baye sought to avenge the death of her son in the very bad La Volante by interfering in the private lives of the guilty. Role reversal in Moka: this time, she plays the alleged culprit, unaware that her new friend is in fact seeking justice. The result is less pretentious and ridiculous, with more earnest writing and a very restrained performance by Emmanuelle Devos. But Moka is far too predictable and superficial to have anything interesting to say about the already hackneyed theme of mourning and twisted revenge. An unnecessary movie, despite a captivating face-to-face between Emmanuelle Devos and Nathalie Baye, two talented and very different actresses.
