From her hospital deathbed, an old woman tells her grown-up daughter the story of the love of her life, Benjamin Button. Born old in 1918 in New Orleans, he gets younger as time passes, a strange phenomenon which keeps the lovers from living out their passion fully.

Based only loosely on the novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald, the ambitious and melancholy The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is similar to Forrest Gump in many points, as both screenplays were written by Eric Roth. Magnificently filmed with incredible special effects that allow Brad Pitt to go from 80-year-old to young man - as fresh as he was in his important debut screen appearance in Thelma and Louise in 1991 - David Fincher's movie is unfortunately not completely convincing.
