A child is confronted by the disappearance of his father. Winner of the 2010 Golden Bear in Berlin.
Yusuf, a shy six-year-old boy, lives with his parents in an isolated village in the heart of Anatolia. At primary school, he has a hard time with social conventions and suffers from inhibition. But when he accompanies his beekeeper father Yakup as he places beehives in trees, the magical aura of the surrounding nature envelops him and stimulates his imagination. Because he admires his father so boundlessly, Yusuf is completely destroyed when his father disappears one day.
Final film in a trilogy with reverse chronology, Honey follows Egg and Milk to tell the story of a Turkish poet named Yusuf. Unforgettable, Honey is a masterpiece whose rare dialogues leave room for the sounds of nature, and whose breathtaking light accompanies the deep emotion sparked by the sight of the distraught and overwhelmingly sensitive boy who barely speaks.
