Although they're still happy and fulfilled after 20 years, the relationship between arts journalist Hanna and media artist Simon includes a little too much routine. But that routine turns to chaos when they separately meet the laid-back scientist Adam, fall for him, and each start an affair with him.

Three smart people, lots of dialog and scenic Berlin is all Tom Tykwer needs for his return to German filmmaking after big international productions like Perfume and The International. He lays it on a bit thick here and there, but generally this is a clever, serious and pleasantly light relationship comedy starring three top performers that ignores the usual gender stereotypes and other clichés.
