Those struck with cancer have little to laugh about. A Danish patriarch remarries, but before an heir can be produced to take over the family business and his life’s work – the royal bakery – he is told he has terminal cancer. So he makes other plans, but his family objects because they have some of their own.

The story of a power struggle and a race against time leaves few eyes dry, and some of the sadness is left over for director Pernille Fischer Christensen, whose films are usually made up of more than just slick images and big-budget production values.
