Gulliver's Travels
Stranded in the land of the Lilliputians, a loser discovers being big isn't enough to impress people.
A lowly office worker named Gulliver (Jack Black) is a spineless but nice guy. Having lied on his aptitude test, he is sent to the Bermuda triangle where he gets stuck in a storm and ends up stranded in Lilliput. In the eyes of the tiny inhabitants of the island, he at first seems to be a monster, but becomes a hero when he pees on a raging fire...
While Jonathan Swift, the author of the 1721 original "Gulliver's Travels", was satirizing his fellow Englishmen, the director of this umpteenth adaptation, Rob Letterman, glorifies his fellow countrymen in his version. By making his Lilliput a model of Manhattan, he shows a sincere lack of imagination, despite some very flashy new special effects.
