Inception
An industrial spy who uses paranormal techniques is told to plant an idea into his victim's subconscious.
Traumatized by the death of his wife - of which he was accused - Dom Cobb can't set foot in the US to visit his children for fear of being arrested. Working for multinationals with a team of specialist industrial spies from all over the world, Cobb enters his victims' subconscious and steals information from their minds. One day a client asks him not to gather information, but to carry out an "inception": to plant an idea into his victim's brain. But the operation becomes dangerous as Cobb's mind is threatened by his own demons.
The maker of the brilliant The Prestige, Insomnia and Memento, Christopher Nolan, proves yet again he can deliver a movie that is not just commercial, but also ambitious and of high quality - in complete contrast to Europe's intellectual films, which are pretentious and thoroughly boring. Inception is a wonderful love story, a thriller with never-before-seen weightless action scenes, a fascinating trip full of incredible special effects and a script with several overlapping plot lines that are both elaborate and masterful. Classic film buffs will be pleased by the elegant but discrete homage paid to Citizen Kane and 2001: A Space Odyssey. In short, Inception is monumental and already a classic of modern cinema.
