Soren, a young barn owl, is fascinated by his father's adventure stories about the legendary guardians of Ga'Hoole, a group of winged warriors who once defeated the despots known as the "Pure Ones". When he and his brother are captured and enslaved by a sinister couple of long-eared owls, Soren finds the courage to escape to the Great Tree of the Guardians.

300 director Zack Snyder takes on the difficult challenge of animation with this imaginative fantasy adventure based on the first three children's books by Kathryn Lasky. Snyder turns the story into a dark, photorealistic fable about the dramatic battle between two opposing clans of owls.
