No et moi
An 13-year-old star pupil convinces her parents to take in a homeless girl she's doing a school project on.
Lou, a shy but excellent 13-year-old pupil, meets a homeless girl named, Nora - whose nickname is "No" - to interview her as part of a project on 100,000 homeless people who live in Paris between soup kitchens, metro stations and overfilled homes. After making a brilliant presentation to her teacher, Lou and No become such close friends that the former convinces her parents to take No in. No in turn gives hope to Lou's mother, who is traumatized by the death of her second child a few years earlier and is fascinated by Nora. But No's reintegration into society through a job brokered by social services proves to be more difficult that anticipated...
Taking audiences hostage and subjecting them to difficult and dramatic subjects like the loss of a newborn or the destiny of a feral girl without a family or home may annoy some viewers. However, in the final analysis No et moi is a touching and sensitive film about the fascinating phase of adolescence.
