The Tourist
An American math teacher meets a beautiful and mysterious woman on a train.
On the train from Paris to Venice, a humble American math teacher on vacation named Frank is hit on by a beautiful Englishwoman named Elise. In Venice, Elise passes him off as her husband and invites him to spend the night in her sumptuous suite. Frank falls quickly and hard, realizing too late he's being used: Elise is a double agent working for Scotland Yard and in love with a wanted white collar criminal who's being pursued by Interpol...
The Tourist is Salt in high heels with a wardrobe by Chanel, starring Angelina Jolie yet again as a double agent torn between her mission and her feelings for the man she loves. The hopeful blockbuster was sponsored by Venice tourism and adapted from the French original: a wonderful Hitchcockian thriller called Anthony Zimmer. In comparison, the chemistry between Yvan Attal and Sophie Marceau is much better than that between Johnny Depp and Madame Pitt.
