Three sisters deal with the death of their grandmother as they live along in a big house in Buenos Aires.
Three young sisters live in a house in Buenos Aires after the death of their grandmother. Violeta takes off and returns later as if nothing happened. Sofia is moody, caustic and self-involved. Marina is responsible and the only one really interested in keeping the house.
Their parents are not around – whether they're dead, disappeared on their own accord or had help is unknown. But they are present indirectly - in photographs, objects, in their children's memories. Nothing special in the history of Argentina, considering the military junta: an estimated 30,000 people were kidnapped or killed between 1976 and 1983. The winning film at the 2011 Locarno Film Festival by Argentinean-Swiss director Milagros Mumenthaler is a soft and unspectacular story about three sisters who find their own way to independence. A slow movie for those with patience.
