Many enemies, not much honor: why the richest man in Russia was sent to Siberia.

For five years, Berlin filmmaker Cyril Tuschi researched and traveled in eastern Europe, to England, Israel and the US to gather information about the life and career of Mikhail Khodorkovsky, doing interviews with former co-workers and family members. He sets the scene for the early 90's, illustrating Khodorkovsky's unique professional development, mixing factual evidence with fictional animation to depict important events. This makes it easier to understand why Putin set his sights on Khodorkovsky, but doesn't shed any reasonable doubt on his innocence.

Mikhail Khodorkovsky has the favor of the western media, so if a German filmmaker makes a documentary about him, it remains to be seen whether his position is controversial. In any case, Russian intelligence had no patience or trust in the project: shortly before its premiere at the Berlin Film Festival, Cyril Tuschi had a break-in during which part of his work was stolen, and a hard disk containing film material was taken from his hotel. The police are investigating.
