A young man whose parents are dead finds love at a funeral he has crashed. Directed by Gus Van Sant.

Since the tragic death of this parents, Enoch goes to funerals of people he doesn't know. At one of these he falls for Annabel (Mia Wasikowska), a young woman passionate about Darwin and life who's unfortunately dying of cancer. She joins him in his game, and soon it gets a new meaning as she prepares to die and he relearns how to live. By accompanying her to the end, he is able to rid himself of the ghost haunting him. A short but forceful story.

Two delicate adolescents, as pale as death, together find a good reason to live even if they don't have much time together... The tone of this film could be heavier than it is. The appearance of a ghost, discussions with dead people - especially when he introduces her to his parents - lend it a quirky air that is very Gus Van Sant. The result is nicely poetic; a sweet love story that nonetheless has its head inside a big black cloud.
