A professor of baroque music has a difficult relationship with his 15-year-old daughter.
A widowed professor of Italian baroque music, Alessandro lives in the Alsace with his 15-year-old daughter Irina and his slightly crazy brother, a sweet anarchist who sponges off him. Never having had the courage to restart his life with another woman, he puts all his energy into educating his daughter, smothering her in the process. As she has her first experiences with boys, their relationship becomes increasingly tense, and Alessandro finally understands he has to give her space and figure out his own life...
Often funny and moving, this charming French comedy works thanks to its heartwarming and simple cheerfulness, which is welcome in the film’s otherwise morose ambiance.
