Michael Bay is back with a new bag of robot tricks, putting Shia LaBeouf up against the one-eyed robo-dictator Shockwave.

At the end of the 60's, an Autobot spaceship was discovered on the dark side of the moon. Now, almost a half century later, the Autobots find out about its existence. Its pilot was Sentinel Prime, who is reawakened on earth. But this also brings back Megatron and the Decepticons - the bitter enemies of the Autobots launch an invasion of the earth, with the aim of enslaving mankind, unless Sam Witwicky, Optimus Prime and the other Autobots can't stop them.

In Transformers 3, Michael Bay lets the Autobots and the Decepticons loose on each other once again. The extravaganza in which Optimus Prime and his heroes try to save the earth from the threat of the Decepticons, which goes on for almost three hours, is style over substance. Infantile humor and hammy actors are enhanced with a full load of special effects. The result is thin: a movie that is mainly targeted towards kids.
