Dumped by his girlfriend, a big womanizer plunges into egocentric chaos.

L.A. , 1970s: the escapades of Charles (Charlie Sheen, who seems to be playing himself), a graphic designer left by his girlfriend Ivana (Katheryn Winnick). Wanting to throw a bag of shoes off a cliff – a bag she had thrown at him – he loses control of his car, sliding down the hill into the swimming pool of a record producer. After a stay in the hospital (where feared heart problems turn out to be just heartburn), he finds himself alone at home with Coco, a macaw who wastes no time in dying on him. Depressed, unable to concentrate, he tries in vain to develop an idea for a record cover he has promised a musician friend...

This wacky movie by Roman Coppola (brother of Sofia, son of Francis Ford) writhes with ideas (and lots of insider movie references) but most of them fall flat. In Charles' head there are many colorful and scattered ideas about how to get Ivana back, but the not very captivating script goes around in circles. It can only be concluded that artists are very selfish people, that they all end up alone and that it must be exhausting to be so misunderstood in the long run...
