In the summer after the revolution of May 68, Gilles, a militant lycee student, sets his attentions on more personal projects, like filmmaking. Gilles throws himself into the profession, profiting from the fact that his father has directed many adaptations of novels by Georges Simenon. With more ambitious plans, the young man dreams of serving his political ideals. Between existential doubts, a few trips abroad, his search for himself, attempts at love, artistic ambitions, and questions for himself and the universe, Gilles is in constant search of answers...

Subject matter that is always rich – adolescence, young adulthood and the choices it forces upon the boy – is dealt with through this young man within the heart of a historically political period that is in itself already charged. Illustrated by long haired kids, flowing, flowery clothes and light drugs, the reconstructed ambiance of the times is unfortunately dragged down by a political discourse that doesn't quite get it right - often recited with either too much or not enough fervor by the actors.
