Kevin James becomes a mixed martial arts fighter for his pupils and tries to win over Salma Hayek.

Scott Voss (Kevin James) is 42, a former college wrestler who works as a high school biology teacher. When Voss hears that the music teacher is going to be fired for lack of funding, he takes on a side job as a mixed martial arts fighter – to get the money for extra-curricular activities at his school. At the same time, James also tries to win over Salma Hayek...

What sounds like crass slapstick is a surprisingly successful comedy without too much toilet humor. The movie's greatest assets are the very realistic and engaging scenes with Kevin James in full physical swing. The realism is helped along by actual martial arts athletes whose choreographed fights with James work convincingly. Unfortunately, the ending is of the all-too typical "Rocky" variety.
