Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones go to a sex therapist: comedy by "The Devil Wears Prada" director David Frankel.

Even the most devoted spouse has her limits. Kay Soames stood by long enough as her 31-year marriage to Arnold slowly drained itself of passion and tenderness in the idyllic coastal town of Hope Springs. They've slept in separate rooms for years, her anniversary presents are things like a new fridge and neither of them remembers when they last had sex. But Kay doesn't want to leave her husband, she wants to be in love again. So she makes an appointment with Dr. Feld. Arnold, however, is neither impressed nor cooperative.

Hope Springs is a nice, bittersweet comedy for the not-so young. But mainly it's a star vehicle for Meryl Streep in the best sense of the word. This movie would probably not exist without her; it is finely tailored towards Streep and works only thanks to her and Tommy Lee Jones's fantastic performances. The plot itself is a bit artless, but works nonetheless – unfortunately so is David Frankel's direction, which doesn't.
