After the death of his wife, Count Dracula founds the Hotel Transylvania, a refuge where monsters of all kinds can feel safe. These monsters turn out to be really nice guys who are endlessly hunted by humans. And so Dracula is worried about his daughter Mavis, who finally wants to leave the castle and see the world after her 118th birthday. But then the world comes to the hotel in the shape of a backpacker named Jonathan, who turns Dracula's own world upside down and raises the question: Are people really so bad?

After ParaNorman, Hotel Transylvania is the second monster movie this year targeting kids. A highly entertaining animated film for large and small fans of things that go bump in the night, which shows – as if by chance – that prejudice never turns out to have anything to do with reality.
