Fatma (Nihal Koldaş) has cancer. She lives in Vienna with her Turkish family, whom she wants looked after when she’s gone by having her husband Hasan (Murathan Muslu) marry a second wife, the young Ayse (Begüm Akkaya). Her more or less grown-up children don’t take to the new kuma, until something unexpected happens to make the two wives slowly bond.

In his debut film, Umut Dag offers a prejudice-free, but somewhat thin look at the tensions within a migrant family in which the traditional views of the parents are contrasted against the Western-oriented generation of their children.
