A stripper decides to change careers with the help of a gambler in Vegas. Directed by Stephen Frears.

Beth (Rebecca Hall) wants to change her life as a stripper. She goes to Vegas with the plan of becoming a bartender, but when she meets Dink (Bruce Willis), a professional sports gambler, he takes the green young ingénue under his wing and adds her to his team. Thrilled when his new recruit brings him luck, Dink sees his business take off... until Tulip, Dink's big-haired wife (Catherine Zeta-Jones) feels threatened and gets rid of her. Once fired, Beth tries out her new skills on others. A few initial risks and failures later, there's more than money at stake, and Beth needs to ask her mentor for help...

Only Catherine Zeta-Jones' beehive could weather this storm of silliness: Rebecca Hall’s catalogue of facial expressions are limited to either sulky or overexcited, and are enough to make these Memoires of a Gambler unwatchable. It's hard to believe that behind the camera is the maker of Dangerous Liaisons, The Queen and The Grifters. Without a doubt, this is the nadir of Stephen Frears' career.
