Mains armées
Cop thriller and family drama about two police officers whose lives interconnect.
A lead on large-scale arms trafficking takes Lucas (Roschdy Zem), a cop from Marseille, to Paris. He uses this as an occasion to make contact with Maya (Leïla Bekhti), a young recruit on the vice squad with whom he seems to have a history. Their two environments mix as their stories intermingle. As her department appears rife with bungles and leaks, he must investigate without putting his colleague in danger. And she must prove her strength and give him good reason to love her.
Pierre Jolivet reunites with his star from Ma petite enterprise, tailoring to him the role of straight-laced cop. While his performance and that of Leïla Bekhti are true and fit well into the frame of this thriller, what's missing is a good portion of intrigue and there is too much sentimentality. The result is a film that tries to be a brutally real cop thriller and family drama but ends up missing both its targets.
