A penniless flash mob organizer and a daddy's girl dance under the Miami sun as they fall in love.

They couldn't be more different: Sean is from Miami's poor district while Emily is the daughter of an unscrupulous real estate promoter with a huge fortune. All they have in common is a love of dancing. Sean has a flash mob that performs amazing pieces on the streets of Miami – which are extremely popular when they go viral. Emily has the summer to obtain entrance to a prestigious dance company; if she fails, she'll have to work a boring job for daddy. And so he teaches her to break the rules as she teaches him to go after his dream. When Emily's father announces his project to destroy Sean's neighborhood in favor of a big hotel complex, their flash mob turns from entertainers into activists.

In Step Up 4, also marketed as Sexy Dance Miami Heat, it's all in the title: 1) there's dancing 2) in Miami, 3) it's sexy and 4) very hot. Other than that there's not much happening under the Miami sun. The rare dialogues in Scott Speer's movie confirm what the audience suspects in the first few seconds of the film: its stars are very good dancers, but not really actors. Fans of tuning and big beats will love it.
