The life and suffering of Jesus Christ has affected religion and art, has strengthened faith and sown doubt. Who was Jesus of Nazareth, the preacher, healer, savior and martyr? What kind of “movie” was being made in Galilee on Golgatha? The filmmaker and musician from Obwalden, Luke Gasser, asked himself these questions and came up with the idea of filming a "Making of" about the man and son of God...

Luke Gasser traces the words and deeds of Jesus Christ by interviewing central Swiss theologists and the clergy, and recreating scenes for this "making of". His cinematic essay in original settings takes advantage of the power of words and images. No bland school movie, not educational TV: this is Gasser's view of and search for a person who still raises questions and provokes answers.
